The 12th house in astrology is the final house in the western zodiac system, a place of dissolving before the emergence into the 1st.  Sometimes called "the house of self-undoing," the 12th is a house of dreams, of murky obfuscation of information combined with psychic insight.  It is the house of hospitals, prisons, monasteries, and the unseen. It is a watery, cosmic place, and can be perilous.

The poems in this collection were written over a span of 19 years, over the latter portion of Katherine Rose's natal sun's progression through the 12th and entry into the 1st, and were selected for their thematic relevance.  They explore impact and responsibility, monstrosity, transformation, confusion and intensity, orientation toward compassion, and the deaths of a beloved cat and father. Also included are two full-page art prints by Claire - whose natal sun is progressing through the final degrees of her own 12th house - in honor of her grandmothers.

We hope that this book will be a place of good resonance for dreamers, and a balm for mournful hearts.
